BSNL Wireless Broadband Service contains a major equipment which is a modem receiver that is installed at the roof top with the use of a pole. The modem is installed facing towards the nearest telephone exchange BSNL tower. Then the wire of the modem comes down towards your pc or wifi modem. That one wire splits into two wires by splitter, the first is inserted into PC/WiFi ethernet port and the second one goes into the power adapter for the modem power source.

Then when the engineer connect the ethernet wire to the pc, and open up the ip address (sometimes 192.168.88.1), it opens the modem setup. The engineer searches for the BSNL network and then typed the username and password provided by the BSNL and then you can enjoy the internet services wirelessly. This is a one time setup and you do not need to go into login it again. It works automatically after setting up.

If you want to use it as WiFi, then you have to purchase a wifi router separately. I would suggest you to go with Mi Router 3C as it has minimum complexity in settings and user friendly interface for the customers. The internet speed losses in this service is minimum. You will get the speed of around 9.7 Mbps in a 10 Mbps plan. No landline phone is installed at your home in this service.

The modem installed at your roof top is water resistable so you should not be taken care of it. The installation charges of this service is Rs 1000 and it is variable. It is a very good technology for providing internet services where wire line broadband is inaccessible.
